Quinta do Piloto – Vinha do Pardais tinto 2014
The Vine of the Sparrows 2014 is made by the grapes of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Syrah & Castellan, being planted in the family’s historical vineyard (since the founder, Humberto Cardoso) situated in the Herdade de Agualva. Because of the sweetest grapes, attracting flocks of bird come in the region. The production of wine started from crushed grapes fermented with steps, then aged in French Oak for 12 months, and the final stage of 24 months in bottle, only 3,000 bottles produced annually, and can be saved for minimum 5 years after mature.
A superior Dark red wine. Complex aroma hints of vanilla, fresh plums, flowers, chocolate, cinnamon and subtle balsamic. Taste (set for 1 hr) intense full body wine, well balanced tannin with fruit acidity. Leaving rich aftertaste.
Good pairing with black pork dish or grilled red meat.
Gordon’s Comment :Complex aroma hints spices and flower, robust tannin with fruit acidity. Leaving rich after taste.
